You can swing the bed as long as there's nothing in the back blocking it. The cloth seat holds water after rain and you will have to dump it. The swing does swing in the hammock position, however, the fabric fades out in the sun within 2 weeks. The most effective way to clean the cushions is with soap and water using a wet washcloth. Overall, customers have found this swing to be sturdy and comfortable, but the fabric fades quickly in the sun. The water-resistant canopy collects water and needs to be emptied after rain. The cushions need to be put away when not in use to maintain their appearance.
