    Answer: For hummingbirds, use 13g of NEKTON-Nektar-Plus in 100 ml of treated, lukewarm water. For lorikeets, use 16g in the same amount of water.
  • Question: How should the product be stored?

    Answer: NEKTON-Nektar-Plus should be stored dry and out of sunlight, between 15° and 25° C (59° and 77° F), and should not be stored in the fridge.
  • Question: Can this food mixture be used for birds other than hummingbirds?

    Answer: Yes, it is suitable for other nectar-eating birds such as sunbirds, honeycreepers, bananaquits, flower piercers, and butterflies.
  • Question: What is the difference with the complete Lory diet?

    Answer: Very similar, almost got the complete lory diet, but this one seemed more based in line for hummingbirds. I had an injured hummingbird to care for.

    Answer: The ratio is 1 part Nektar-Plus to 5.5 parts pure lukewarm water. Measurements are metric: In 100 ml lukewarm water slowly add 18ml (13g) Nektar-Plus.

    Answer: Due to the nature of this product, it should not be used once the powder starts to change color or clump together. Bacteria will build up if not properly stored. The solution needs to be changed every 3-4 hours. There are no preservatives in the powdered mixture to prolong the mixed life of the product.
  • Question: How many gallons of hummingbird food will this make?

    Answer: This is not a formula to fill home hummingbird feeders. It is used primarily for rehab birds or for birds in captivity in Europe where it is manufactured. Best to use sugar water mixed 1 part white sugar to 4 parts boiled water. Note that the sugar water is a treat food for quick energy and not intended as a staple diet.
