Are the Zarges aluminum boxes waterproof for whitewater river rafting?
Answer: I purchased the K440 to transport a large Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. The construction is water tight and the lid gasket is robust. The case is "waterproof" under all environmental conditions. The Zarges product sheet states that the boxes are water tight to some European standard and offer protection against "water jets" or forced water streams. They are great boxes, incredibly strong, robust, and water tight.
