The HOLDPEAK HP-856A Pro Anemometer is a handheld device that provides measurements for HVAC, air flow area setting, air velocity, temperature, and wind speed. The device comes with a back light and features data hold, USB connectivity to your computer, and can set airflow area in square feet and square meters. The device has a fan rope that can extend up to 2 meters, allowing for testing in high-flow ducts that are 4" inches in diameter. The HOLDPEAK HP-856A anemometer records data points and can be used for both single and continuous data recording. This device is compact and easy-to-use, making it a suitable tool for both indoor and outdoor use. Customer experience and reception: According to one customer review, the device was challenging to use due to the useless manual and complicated setup. However, another customer had a positive experience, stating that they were able to save and test the air flow volume coming out of their furnace vents. One customer ordered the anemometer to test air flow in a pre-print web cleaning system but found that the blades on the wand were broken. They contacted the company, but they have yet to hear back from them. Another customer had engineering projects where they used two devices right to the limit of the specification- 45 meters per second or just over 100 miles per hour- but one of the sensors broke when one of the blades of the plastic turbine flew off. The customer contacted HOLDPEAK, and they sent a replacement immediately, although it had to be shipped from China amid the pandemic. Overall, the HOLDPEAK HP-856A anemometer is a suitable device, but its durability may be an issue.
