How does your quality compare to Zwilling German knives?
Answer: I hate to say I bought a few Dalstrong knives and am not a big fan. Love their designs but not a fan of the steel. Don't own Zwilling so can't compare them, sry. -

Are these the unissued units from the retirement of the F-117?
Answer: Negative, they obtain materials from S4. -

What type of steel are the knives made out of?
Answer: The Shadow Black Series is made of German ThyssenKrupp steel, but we are upgrading it to 7CRMOV which is an even better steel. -

Will these knives hold onto a magnetic strip?
Answer: Yes, the Shadow Black Series knives (or any of our knife series, for that matter) will stick on a magnetic strip/holder. -
Question:
Is the block all black, like in the advertisement? Have previous concerns about mold in the block been addressed?
Answer: Our Dalstrong Knife Block for Shadow Series is definitely all black as advertised and we haven't encountered such mold problems with the knife block. Hence, to avoid such a problem from occurring, one must properly dry the knives before placing them on the knife block. -

I'm interested in the shadow black series but how do i sharpen it without the black color coming off? what do i use? thanks
Answer: You can use a medium-fine ceramic honing rod, around #1200 grit to sharpen our Shadow Black Series. -

How do I sharpen these knives? with steel or ceramic
Answer: To hone your Gladiator Series knife, a steel honing rod would be suitable. Detailed instructions including pictures on how to do this can be found in the care and maintenance manual that came with your Dalstrong knife.
