However, the hopper can't be packed too tightly to avoid clogging, and the device won't work well for shredding woody ivy stems. It's easy to change the string, but the pack of line that comes with the machine is of low quality. Compared to a mulching leaf blower, the WORX mulcher may be preferred due to its ability to set it up in one place and rake the leaves towards it. Pine needles work if they are dry enough, but while the smaller ones should be OK to process, they may not be too 'processed'. The machine can be used to process oak leaves to create leaf mold. The size of the chopped leaves is about one-tenth of the original size, and a 30-gallon plastic bag may be used to collect the leaves.
