Answer: It will go down deep enough into the tank that you won't really have to worry about it coming out. Mine fits pretty well and I don't put enough pressure through mine to ever have to worry about it. -

How do you stop the leaking at the return valve?
Answer: If you mean break the water flow, drill a small hole into the tube about 1/4 inch below water line. -
