Bogen Computer Microphones DDU250 Editorial Review
### Editorial Review The microphone in question has garnered a mixed reception from users, primarily focused on its performance and design features. Users sought a microphone that would provide them with specific functionalities, such as momentary and lock switches for their studio and live sound applications, and on some levels, this mic delivered on expectations. It was described as good-looking and offering reasonable sound quality; some users even appreciated its price point. However, a pervasive issue looms large in the feedback: a persistent hum that affects performance and usability. Many customers reported this hum as a significant detriment, attributing it to inadequate shielding and small conductor sizes in the microphone's wiring. The lack of shielding has led to grounding problems and radio interference when connected to various audio systems, leading several users to return the product after experiencing these concerns. While some users attempted workarounds, such as re-routing the wiring or coiling the cable to mitigate noise, many ultimately felt that the microphone design fell short of expectations, labeling it as defective. Overall, despite a few positive remarks regarding sound quality and aesthetic appeal, the Consensus suggests that potential buyers should exercise caution, particularly regarding the microphone's shielding and overall performance in professional settings. ### Pros and Cons **
