The DEWALT DW872 is a powerful metal cutting saw, with a multi-use blade for cutting materials such as steel and aluminum. Despite its high price point, the base of the saw is made of a relatively low-quality, 18-gauge stamped steel, which compromises the overall accuracy of cuts. The built-in fence and stops also don't provide the necessary accuracy, while the clamp works adequately, but is still quite cheap. Miters require Constant adjustment to the clamping system and several users found the lock to hold angles unreliable, causing it to move mid-cut. Maintaining accuracy therefore requires time and effort. However, the saw is generally reliable and blades last for a long time.
