The grain size, shape, and texture of this clay are different from turface, which is another similar product. It does not float like perlite, which is a plus. I had a question about the pH of this clay compared to Monto Clay and the seller promptly responded. They explained that Bonsai Block is a fired standard ball clay and has alkaline properties, while Monto Clay is a fired montmorillonite clay with acidic properties. They were very helpful in clarifying any confusion. Overall, my experience with this product has been excellent. The clay is of high quality and it is perfect for my bonsai plants.
