CTCUnion Transceivers Editorial Review
The FRM220-FXO-FXS-SC030 is a POTS (plain old telephone service) line over fiber extender, which can transport one regular telephone line over fiber optic instead. The SC030 model works as a two-unit system and can be configured using DIP switches to act as either FXS or FXO end of the phone line. The extender supports caller ID and DTMF and replicates them in the POTS spectrum. The fiber converter is single-strand, which means that each line will only use one fiber. While the extender is practical for extending traditional telephone lines over a long distance, it cannot interface with other phone line types or cellular phones/lines. It also cannot capture proprietary signals for hybrid telephones, making it unsuitable for use with proprietary systems like the Panasonic KX-TA824.
