Answer: It is Polystyrene (PS). It is durable for the price. We however offer a premium acrylic cylinder with thicker wall (3mm), if you are looking for a very durable cylinder. ASIN# B00MV8QXLO which we offer various size both 9" and 12" from 1.50" in diameter up to 3.50". It also have a female threaded valve on the top instead of the nozzle (hose barb). The female threaded valve is more efficient way to use the cylinder as you can connect and disconnect the hose with male fitting easily. Moreover, you can disconnect the hose, once you create enough vacuum inside the cylinder and the cylinder will maintain the vacuum, so it is more convenient. -
