Answer: When the light gets overheated during the highest level, it drops to about 900 lm in a smooth transition. It is highly susceptible to such decreases, and sometimes it seems like the light won't go to 1200 even when it is just a warm night. During winter, the light seems to be a full 1200. -

Are you using this for mountain biking?
Answer: Yes, I have used it for mountain biking at night without any problems. It has been a solid and reliable piece of kit. -

Does the unit swivel side to side?
Answer: The device swivels only about 10 degrees in each direction, left and right. -
