Comedy Editorial Review

Folger Shakespeare Library's Twelfth Night is a great edition for students or anyone unfamiliar with Shakespeare's works, as it provides original texts with line numbers on the right-hand pages and notes on the left-hand pages explaining odd words, figures of speech, customs and other notations that may be confusing to modern readers. Each scene is also preceded by a short introduction that summarizes the plot. While the book contains essays in the back, some readers tend to ignore them. The book is small enough to carry to rehearsals and is delivered undamaged. However, one customer complaint highlighted that they never received the download despite paying for it. A reviewer who purchased Bruce Colville's Shakespeare picture books found them to be an excellent way of introducing Shakespeare to upper elementary children, although these books are currently not in print.
