  • Question: What types of equipment can Contact Cleaner be used on?

    Answer: It is safe to use on printed circuit boards, controls, battery terminals, switches, precision instruments, electric panels and various metals and plastics (test plastic before use).
  • Question: Is the product safe for use on all plastics?

    Answer: No, it is recommended to test on plastic before using and to avoid adhesives, device screens, and keyboards.
  • Question: Is the product environmentally friendly?

    Answer: The Contact Cleaner is 50-state VOC compliant.
  • Question: So i can spray this in my av receiver or amplifier so i can clean all other things like the circuit boards?

    Answer: Yes, I used it on two of my high-end motherboards and it did great. You will have to use a paper towel, (a brand like Bounty which doesn't have much lint or shreds too easy), to wipe of the dirt or grime that's more stubborn. However, most of the time you can tilt the item in an angle so that the spray runs off as you apply it. NOTE: I've bought this stuff twice and in both cases, I had to operate the spray while the can was held upside down! The first time, I thought this was some kind of defect. However, when I got the second can, I realized that they did this on purpose in anticipation that the user was going to have to invert the can in order to 'reach' whatever item he was cleaning...I prefer it wasn't designed that way, but there it is.
  • Question: Will this remove dust stuck in between fins of heasink use in computers?

    Answer: never used it for that but I don't see why not
  • Question: will this safely lubricate a tight electrical connector?

    Answer: Where I am using it, to clean hard to reach contacts in an electric organ, no lubrication is required, so I don't want something to lubricate. I think this is just a cleaner.

This electrical cleaner is effective for cleaning high-end motherboards and electric organs. It can remove dirt or grime on the circuit board but may require wiping with a paper towel. It can also help bring back the function of keys in organs. There is no need for lubrication as it is just a cleaner. It is best used for cleaning small electric motors or PCBs as it leaves no residue and evaporates rapidly. However, there were some instances where it caused an electric switch to short circuit, and some customers received an empty bottle.
