It can also transmit just an audio signal if needed. It does not have HDMI input. The IR hole on the back of the unit can send IR codes to change channels. The setup is easy and the device works fine if you have a proper range without interference. However, some customers have reported issues such as a very bad black and white picture, a very short range on all 8 channels, lots of interference in the picture, and occasional disconnection that requires resetting the units. Some customers have also reported that the transmitter and receiver do not work at all for some channels. The range may not reach up to the stated distance by the vendor in an open-air point-to-point. The device also gets hot, which could be a concern for some users.
